Energy efficient appliances will greatly help you cut your energy bills, and aren't necessarily more expensive than things you're using at the moment. When looking for new appliances, keep an eye out for ones with the following labels on them to save energy and money:
Energy Saving Trust Recommended label
The Energy Saving Trust aims towards helping everyone save energy and any appliance with this label on means that it is among the top 20% rated by efficiency.
European Union energy label
The EU energy label is placed on appliances such as fridges, freezers and washing machines to show the level of efficiency of the appliance. The ratings scale consists of 7 different levels, A to G, with A being the most efficient and G being the least efficient. Although the scale ranges from A to G, you may also see even higher ratings such as A+, A++ and A+++ for exceptional products.
