The energy-using habits of British households have been revealed in a new report partly written by the Energy Saving Trust. It highlights the actual day-to-day use of electricity. It reveals some surprising facts – for example we spend more on keeping our crockery, glasses and cutlery clean than we do on our clothes. This is because anyone with a dishwasher uses on average nearly twice as much electricity for this as they do for their washing machine.
