ECO scheme is responsible for the installation of most energy-saving measures, report reveals

Although it’s currently under scrutiny by the British Government and a prime target for cut backs, the ECO scheme is actually responsible for the most installations of energy-saving measures in UK homes, figures from the DECC’s Domestic Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation in Great Britain, Monthly report have revealed.

The government’s own statistics showed that more than 310,000 measures have been installed in 273,000 homes since the start of the schemes in January, most of which consist of loft and cavity wall insulation and boiler replacements.

Another 7,000 measures – virtually all boiler replacements – benefited from a cashback scheme originally intended to kickstart the green deal. Just 211 “live” green deals – 0.07% of the total measures – have been completed, with about 1,000 still in progress.

For this reason, scrapping the ECO deal would deal a devastating blow both to people whose homes require the installation of energy-efficiency measures, and the industry as a whole, multiple sources close to the matter claim.

Installing an advanced boiler control and heating management system under one of the government’s schemes is one of the best possible solutions for optimizing energy consumption on the future, and this is exactly where HeatingSave could put its extensive experience to very good use, since our system is capable of easily cutting energy expenditure by 20 to 30%+.

The HeatingSave building energy management system is approved to work and save fuel within the Energy Technology List, which is managed by the Carbon Trust on behalf of the Government. It is also approved by the Department of Energy & Climate Change and the Energy Savings Trust and was specified by the Building Research Establishment for the energy efficient homes retro-fit program, called The Greenhouse Project.

Last, but certainly not least, it’s important to mention that HeatingSave is a component part of the Government’s Green Deal program.
