Scotland’s commercial landlords urged to take action on new energy efficiency rules

Building Energy Management Systems

A property consultancy has urged Scottish landlords to take action on the new energy efficiency regulations since around 70 per cent of commercial building owners yet to complete the required energy efficiency plan, a news report has recently been able to reveal.

The new regulations will require owners of buildings larger than 1,000 square metres who sell or rent out their property to provide an Action Plan laying out measures they will take to improve the energy performance of the building and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They are also required to submit energy improvement data to the Scottish Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) register.

While property owners still have time to complete the plans before they come in on 1 September, the consultancy warned that landlords who fail to comply with the regulations could face enforcement action from local authorities.

HeatingSave Building Energy Management System – the perfect solution to enable significant energy savings for commercial properties

Achieving energy savings within the non-domestic sector can be easily achieved by implementing advanced advanced BEMS (Building Energy Management System) solutions, and this is exactly where the HeatingSave system might prove its worth, since our solution allows customers to achieve immediately savings of up to 30%+ on their energy bills.

This is achieved by optimizing the energy consumption levels within any building with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.

It also automatically adjusts your boiler depending on how warm it is outside – save up to another 10%.

Furthermore, the system also offers an advanced automatic occupancy detection system that allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
