Fenland local authority to begin ambitious energy saving programme across region’s leisure centres

HeatingSave Building Energy Management System

Fenland District Council has revealed plans for a £823,000 energy-saving scheme targeting the region’s leisure centres, a recent news report has been able to suggest.

As part of this scheme, inefficient or worn-out heating, lighting and ventilation equipment will be replaced with new, energy-efficient gear, with the resulting cuts in energy costs expected to make net savings of up to £1.4 million over the next 20 years.

Councillor Michelle Tanfield, the Cabinet member responsible for leisure, said: “Everyone who uses the centres will benefit from having better lighting and heating and from the more efficient use of energy. This major investment reflects our determination to provide the best possible service to all our customers.”

It is estimated that the £823,000 capital investment in the plant and equipment will break even within 14 years and then go on to make significant ongoing revenue savings.

HeatingSave – a perfect building energy management system (BEMS) for any leisure facility

Advanced BEMS (Building Energy Management System) solutions represent one of the top energy efficiency measures organizations of any scope and size can turn to, given the fact that they enable a superior level of control over the heating system and its extensive optimization, thus leading to lower overall consumption levels.

And this is exactly where the HeatingSave system might prove its worth, since our solution allows customers to achieve immediately savings of up to 30%+ on their energy bills. This is achieved by optimizing the energy consumption levels within any building with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.

It also automatically adjusts your boiler depending on how warm it is outside – save up to another 10%.

Furthermore, the system also offers an advanced automatic occupancy detection system that allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
