Average energy consumption across the UK falls by 24.7 percent over 6 years

The latest figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) indicate that household gas and electricity consumption across the UK fell by a staggering 24.7 percent between 2006 and 2011, in a bid to mitigate the steep rise in energy bills over the same period.

As energy market regulator Ofgem reveals, bills have risen by 28% in the last three years, prompting home owners to be significantly more cautious in terms of energy expenditure. However, the wider use of various energy efficiency measures, such as extensive loft and home insulation, double glazing and new, more efficient boilers, might also be playing their part.

The ONS said another reason for the fall in consumption might be the introduction of energy ratings for properties and for household appliances, allowing customers to make informed choices.

Unfortunately, for the large majority of households, saving energy also equates to a lower level of comfort during the cold months, and that’s exactly where HeatingSave could step in and help, since our advanced Building Energy Management System enables energy savings of up to 30%+, while still maintaining a very good level of comfort for the occupants.

The HeatingSave system employs dedicated hardware, high-sensitivity sensors and probes, as well as an advanced algorithm for computing heating loss in various zones. With the help of all of these components, HeatingSave’s Building Energy Management System manages to completely automate the heating pattern around your home, offering the same level of comfort, while in the same time drastically reducing consumption.
