Collective energy switch scheme creates cheapest 2-year energy tariff on the market

A collective bargaining campaign involving 10,000 members of the public has led to the development of the cheapest two year energy deal on the market, namely just £1,055 per year, compared to Ofgem’s estimate of the average annual energy bill of £1,346 per year.

This very low tariff will only be available to the customers who have joined this money-saving scheme, known as The Big Deal. It is estimated that it will cut the average bill by £291 a year and £582 over two years. In total the 10,000 Big Deal members (over 60% of whom have never or hardly ever switched before) stand to save over £5.8 million.

This deal is open to customers who wish to pay by Direct Debit, or Cash / Cheque, and receive online or paper bills and stands until midnight on Tuesday 15th July. It is provided by leading independent energy supplier, Green Star Energy, a member of the Just Energy Group Inc.

Henry de Zoete, co-founder of The Big Deal, commented: “Everyone wants lower bills and thanks to people power that’s what we’ve delivered. By harnessing the buying power of 10,000 people the Big Deal has created a new two year market beating tariff that you can’t get on a price comparison site. A first for a collective switch. Not only will it save people hundreds of pounds but it will also save them stress and hassle. No worrying about prices rises and no stress of having to switch again after a year. Huge credit must go to Green Star Energy for standing up for consumers and delivering lower bills.”

Switching tariffs in order to get the best possible deal is certainly a step forward, but installing a solution designed to slash energy usage and bills by up to 30%+ is what every home owner should really look at, if they want to save money.

The HeatingSave Building Energy Management System helps customers save more than 30% on their bills by optimizing any heating system’s overall functionality. This is done by taking into account a variety of factors, such as internal and external temperatures, occupancy, time of the year, the particular characteristics of installed boilers, etc. All of the data is used in order to determine the best heating patterns for the various heating zones within any building, using our proprietary heat-loss algorithm.

The end result is that users still get a very good level of comfort, while in the same time saving energy and money in the process.
