Dual fuel bills could reach £3,000 a year by 2020, industry experts warn

Average dual fuel bills might reach a staggering £3,000 a year should the current trend in energy bill hikes continue, industry experts forecast.

According to a news report in the media, all of the major energy suppliers are likely to charge more for electricity and gas, the first rises (estimated at around 140 pounds, or 5 to 10 percent of the annual bill) set to hit within a few weeks’ time.

Experts across the board blame these future price hikes on investment in green energy and rising wholesale and transport costs. Even worse, any price rise would arrive just before UK consumers start putting on their heating as the weather turns cooler.

Mark Todd, of energy-helpline.com, said: “We think it is imminent. Whether it is in the next few weeks is uncertain but we expect rises before the end of September. We think bills will rise from five to 10 per cent, and yes this is going to put an extra strain on households.”

Given these dire prospects, the idea of implementing energy saving measures within one’s home is becoming increasingly important, and a Building Energy Management System such as HeatingSave is your best bet.

The HeatingSave system allows home owners to cut energy bills by up to an impressive 30%+. It is built around the idea of optimizing the energy consumption levels within any area with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.

Additionally, the automatic occupancy detection allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
