Ecotricity also decides to slash energy prices

Following in the footsteps of the ”Big Six” energy suppliers, who’ve all announced gas and electricity price cuts, independent green energy company Ecotricity has decided to take a similar measure, a news report on the matter has been able to reveal.

After British Gas, E.ON and ScottishPower all announced significant price cuts over the past few days, Ecotricity has announced it will reduce gas bills by 6.1%. The price cut, coming into effect from 1st May, will benefit all customers existing and new.

They will see savings of around £42 a year, with the average dual fuel bill at £1,189.

The energy supplier said it expects to “pass on more savings more quickly later in 2015” as wholesale prices are predicted to fall even further.

Ecotricity Founder Dale Vince said: “At Ecotricity, we’ve been watching the recent drop in wholesale gas prices and have been keen to pass on a price cut to our customers as soon as we could.

“We have just one gas tariff and one price for new and existing customers – so, uniquely in the energy industry, this price cut is for everyone.”

Significant savings can only be truly achieved when implementing a solution designed to optimize energy consumption across the board, whether we’re talking about electricity or gas.

This is exactly where the HeatingSave system will prove its worth, since our solution allows customers to achieve immediately savings of up to 30%+ on their energy bills. This is achieved by optimizing the energy consumption levels within any building with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.

It also automatically adjusts your boiler depending on how warm it is outside – save up to another 10%.

Furthermore, the system also offers an advanced automatic occupancy detection system that allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
