Green Deal adoption not as successful as expected, says report

Despite being heavily promoted by the UK Government, the Green Deal programme is apparently not enjoying a particularly impressive level of success, with only three households across the UK reportedly finalizing the loaning process for energy saving measures.

According to a news report on the matter, although more than 20,000 households have gone through the energy assessment process since the scheme started back in January, significantly fewer have actually accessed the required funds for implementing actual energy-saving measures.

The government will apparently release a statement in the near future claiming that around 200 households have agreed but not finalised loans, which, nevertheless, is a very small number, compared to the Government's actual targets.

In fact, since we're already close to mid-2013, Energy Minister Greg Barker's target of signing up at least 10,000 households by the end of the year seems quite a bit far-fetched, to say the least.
