Green Deal Communities scheme receives 88 million pounds in funding

24 local authorities across the UK will be offered a share of a £88 million pot from the Government for rolling out the Green Deal Communities scheme, the DECC (Department for Energy and Climate Change) has revealed in a statement.

The scheme will be rolled out on a street-by-street basis and will aim to help around 32,000 households install energy efficiency home improvements like solid wall insulation and hew heating systems so that they have warm, more energy efficient homes and better control of their energy bills.

Minister for Energy, Greg Barker commented on the announcement: “Properties across the country are leaking hundreds of pounds every year through faulty boilers, draughty windows and insufficient insulation. By installing energy saving improvements we can help thousands of hard pressed consumers save energy and lower their bills.

“This is why we’ve quadrupled the Green Deal Communities funding, so that Local Authorities can help many more people benefit from these improvements.”

Every home owner out there should seriously consider implementing energy saving measures designed to help them cut their energy bills, and HeatingSave is the perfect solution for this task.

Building Energy Management Systems are capable of delivering extensive monitoring and control options, compared to basic controls. They typically employ data from a variety of sources (boiler flow and return sensors, internal and external temperature sensors, occupancy sensors, humidity sensors, etc.), and enable the perfect optimization of a building’s boiler-based central heating system.

HeatingSave is also approved to work and save fuel within the Energy Technology List, which is managed by the Carbon Trust on behalf of the Government. It is also approved by the Department of Energy & Climate Change and the Energy Savings Trust and was specified by the Building Research Establishment for the energy efficient homes retro-fit program, called The Greenhouse Project.

Last, but certainly not least, it’s important to mention that HeatingSave is a component part of the Government’s Green Deal program.
