Rutland county in East Midlands has the highest carbon footprint per household in England and Wales

Figures released by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) have revealed that the County of Rutland in the East Midlands has the highest energy consumption levels in the whole of England and Wales.

As a news report in the media pointed out, the Rutland households consumed an average of 36 megawatt hours in 2011, which is quite a high value, compared to other parts of the country.

According to the Rutland County Council, the reason behind the county’s high energy consumption levels might be represented by the large amount of picturesque properties that are scattered throughout the area, namely older, detached properties that typically require a higher amount of energy.

However, Rutland is not the only county in the East Midlands to have reached the carbon consumption top, all of the top ten counties coming from exactly the same region of the UK (to make a point, the average household energy consumption in 2011 was 27.5mWh, compared to a national average of 19.7.).

Unfortunately, for the large majority of households, saving energy also equates to a lower level of comfort during the cold months, and that’s exactly where HeatingSave could step in and help, since our advanced Building Energy Management System enables energy savings of up to 30%+, while still maintaining a very good level of comfort for the occupants.

The HeatingSave system employs dedicated hardware, high-sensitivity sensors and probes, as well as an advanced algorithm for computing heating loss in various zones. With the help of all of these components, HeatingSave’s Building Energy Management System manages to completely automate the heating pattern around your home, offering the same level of comfort, while in the same time drastically reducing consumption.
