Staffordshire council tenants to get lower energy bills

Tenants in council bungalows in the area of Cannock Chase in Staffordshire will enjoy lower energy bills as they’re set to get their electricity from new solar panels.

The scheme aims to give free daytime electricity to residents, by raising £400,000 to £1 million to install solar panels on up to 400 council-owned bungalows, a recent news report in the local media was able to reveal.

Based in one of the most deprived districts in Staffordshire and the country, councillors hope this will help residents save cash while cutting the area’s carbon footprint between 160 and 430 tonnes per year CO2.

Councillor Frank Allen added: “Our tenants have been badly hit by rises in energy prices in recent years and through this project we can give many of them an opportunity to reduce their energy bills by getting free electricity when the sun is shining.”

A Building Energy Management System (“BEMS”) from HeatingSave can also manage solar thermal hot water systems as well as controlling your boiler. We probably control solar thermal heating systems better than a separate solar thermal controller.

Our solar products include glass evacuated tube solar heating and solar photovoltaic systems. Integrated together, the BEMS and solar technology will make massive savings on your gas, oil or electricity bills and slash your carbon emissions.

HeatingSave is ISO900 quality assured and HeatingSave is an approved MCS installer.

HeatingSave is also approved to work and save fuel within the Energy Technology List, which is managed by the Carbon Trust on behalf of the Government. It is also approved by the Department of Energy & Climate Change and the Energy Savings Trust and was specified by the Building Research Establishment for the energy efficient homes retro-fit program, called The Greenhouse Project.

Last, but certainly not least, it’s important to mention that HeatingSave is a component part of the Government’s Green Deal program.
