A community centre in Nuneaton is set to become more energy efficient after securing a grant from The Veolia Environmental Trust, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The Wembrook Community Centre in Donnithorne Avenue has received the funding for implementing energy efficiency measures after more than £820,000 were awarded to 27 community and environmental projects across the UK.

Paul Taylor, the executive director of The Veolia Environmental Trust, said: “We were pleased to be able to help this project to install energy-efficient lighting at Wembrook Community Centre.

“The grant shows how the Trust and the Landfill Communities Fund are a vital source of funding for projects that are really needed, and which will make a real difference to people’s lives and the environment.
