The increase in Government borrowing was largely because of the high UK inflation rate in August, in part caused through higher petrol, diesel and gas prices. This has affected even large manufacturing conglomerates such as Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS, which is stopping production at three of its UK plants because of high gas prices.
This should be a wake-up call for British businesses, including hotels and leisure facilities, and those in the public sector such as schools, healthcare and Blue Light entities. Now is the time to start reviewing the controls of heating systems to make sure that they are working and up to date. Too often the problem lies with using simple time clocks or ageing control panels that are no longer fit for purpose.
