Carbon tax capped in new Budget to help businesses and home owners save on energy bills

Chancellor George Osborne announced a £7bn package to cut energy bills in the Budget, in a bid to help “British families and manufacturers save on their energy bills”, as a news report on this topic has revealed.

One of the most important measures announced as part of this package is a cap on the Carbon Price Floor that will save a mid-size manufacturer around £50k annually. The Chancellor mentioned his support for renewables and also announced a £3bn compensation package to energy intensive industries, who will not have to pay the costs of the renewables obligation or feed-in tariffs, both designed to support renewable energy generation.

The Chancellor said this is likely to save companies around £15,000 per year, and households £15 per year, on their energy bills.

While these initiatives laid out by the Government are certainly noteworthy and might help companies reduce their overall energy bills, the truth of the matter is that implementing extensive energy optimization measures is a much sounder idea, and this is specifically where HeatingSave could put its extensive experience in the field to very good use.

HeatingSave optimizes any heating system’s overall functionality by taking into account a variety of factors, such as internal and external temperatures, occupancy, time of the year, the particular characteristics of installed boilers, etc. All of the data is used in order to determine the best heating patterns for the various heating zones within any building, using our proprietary heat-loss algorithm.

The end result is that users still get a very good level of comfort, while in the same time saving energy and money in the process.
