Centrica shows interest in British shale gas, rumour has it
Centrica, the parent company of the much more famous British Gas, one of the UK’s energy suppliers, is apparently eyeing a shale gas – related partnership with Cuadrilla Resources, the first company to have drilled for shale gas in the UK.
According to a news report on the matter, rumour has it that Centrica is in talks with Cuadrilla over its Bowland Shale licences, which, according to the latter’s estimates, might account for an impressive 200trillion cubic feet of gas.
Naturally, both companies have refrained from commenting on the matter, given the sensitive nature of such information.
However, as previously mentioned, the way in which shale gas will affect the actual gas prices and bills, and for this reason, it’s always a very good idea to start investing in a solution that will make an immediate and visible difference in terms of energy bills, namely HeatingSave.
