Europe falling behind on productivity due to very high energy costs, industry leaders warn

Higher energy costs and Europe’s staunch stance on climate issues are starting to seriously affect its productivity levels, Markus Beyrer, head of BusinessEurope, a pan-EU industry federation, revealed in a recent news report.

Mr. Beyrer claims that the US’ approach to shale gas exploration gives them a huge advantage in terms of energy costs, with spot gas prices being four to five times higher in Europe right now, a situation that has rather unfortunate implications for the chemical industry.

Moreover, Mr. Beyrer complained about Europe’s carbon trading scheme lacks efficiency and instead of having an actual effect on CO2 reduction and promotion of renewable energy, it only manages to drive up energy costs.

If you’re quite worried about the latest developments in terms of energy and you plan to implement an energy costs reduction plan for your business, the best place to start is HeatingSave, since our solution will allow you to actually save between 20 and 30+ percent from your monthly energy bills.

HeatingSave grants energy managers an extensive level of control over the building’s heating patterns, meaning that heating will not be on during weekends or holidays unless the building is actually in use. Moreover, its control algorithm will “self-learn” a building’s heat-loss pattern, meaning that it will automatically adjust heating levels in order to optimize consumption and still deliver a very good level of thermal comfort.

The system also enables automatic occupancy detection allowing the temperature to be reduced to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.

HeatingSave can take an automatic decision on whether to use electricity or gas for heating during summer, and also enables users to set a night setback temperature, reducing the night heating by a few degrees to still keep 24/7 operations warm whilst saving energy and money.
