New Ready to Switch for Businesses scheme will help SMEs cut down on their energy bills

SMEs will be able to access cheaper gas and electricity prices, while also being given free advice on how to avoid energy contract pitfalls as a part of the brand-new Ready to Switch for Businesses scheme unveiled at the Local Government Association annual conference.

As a news report reveals, the new energy switching scheme will be spearheaded by the Peterborough City Council, alongside Blackpool, Luton Borough, South Holland, Hull City, Wiltshire and Northumberland.

According to Peterborough City Council, around four out of five businesses are not doing anything about their energy bills and are paying up to 35% more than they need to for their energy, simply because owners either don’t have the time to look into alternative tariffs, or simply don’t have access to them.

Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Edward Davey, said: “Small and medium-sized businesses are crucial to the nation’s economic recovery, so we must do all we can to help them thrive and grow.”

While the aforementioned initiative will certainly have a positive effect, allowing smaller companies to pay less for their energy, the truth of the matter is that implementing advanced BEMS (Building Energy Management System) solutions within their sites would lead to even more impressive savings.

And this is exactly where the HeatingSave system might prove its worth, since our solution allows customers to achieve immediately savings of up to 30%+ on their energy bills. This is achieved by optimizing the energy consumption levels within any building with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.

It also automatically adjusts your boiler depending on how warm it is outside – save up to another 10%.

Furthermore, the system also offers an advanced automatic occupancy detection system that allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
