Ofgem has been investigating British Gas Business for claims that it incorrectly objected to businesses switching. Energy firms can only object to a small firm switching suppliers if there are good reasons — for example, if the company owes money. "We are working closely with Ofgem and hope to get the situation resolved as soon as possible," was the comment from British Gas. Ofgem also wants a clear code of practice for brokers, some of whom mislead business customers.
