UK climbs to second spot in carbon savings top

The UK is now one of the world’s most energy-efficient economies and the most-improved G20 nation on carbon intensity, data published in the sixth annual Low Carbon Economy Index report from PricewaterhouseCoopers was able to reveal.

The UK achieved a 4.8% reduction in carbon intensity, four times the average level achieved globally, according to PwC. It means that for every $1 million of GDP, the UK emits 206 tonnes of CO2, making UK factories, homes and offices more carbon efficient this year than Turkey, Germany, the US, China and India.

PwC puts the improvement down to increased energy efficiency, a record growth in renewables of almost 34% and several coal plants closing.

You can now ensure a low carbon future for your home or business with the HeatingSave building energy management system which cuts heating bills by typically 20% to 30%.

HeatingSave’s PC software shows you when and where you use the most energy. Our Energy Monitor provides the ability to view your current energy usage, along with many other statistics all on a very easy to use monitor screen. It keeps you posted on what is going on with your energy system, where you are using the most energy and where you are spending the most money.
