Ely Fire Station handles fire safety in the medieval Cathedral City of Ely which situated 14 miles (23 km) north-northeast of Cambridge. The station is part of Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, whose community work includes developing a campaign to reduce the number of kitchen fires.

Avery Lodge is a privately owned Residential Care Home situated in the traditional east Norfolk seaside resort of Great Yarmouth. Owner Karl Hodgins runs it with his wife Sheryl, who is the day-to-day manager. St Ives Fire Station is one of 28 fire stations operated by Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, whose website says is “working together to improve community safety”.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service serve the county of Cambridgeshire, which has a population of around 650,000 people. The county Fire Service Headquarters is in Huntingdon, a ‘whole time’ station (crewed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week), running a network of 28 stations. The HQ houses a conventional gas boiler system which provides the heating to the building.

Welwyn St Mary’s Primary School takes children from ages 4 to 11. Built originally in 1940 as a secondary school, St Mary’s is a large school with spacious buildings and grounds. In addition to big classrooms the school has a gym, two libraries, a computer suite, a hall with stage and a music room. The school has a strong tradition for success in the Arts and Sport and have specialist teachers in Music, French and P.E.

Woodlands Junior School in Tonbridge, Kent, teaches approximately 380 boys and girls from the ages of 7-11, and employs about 60 staff.

In 2009 Mr Manning, who is a school headmaster, was looking at ways of improving the energy efficiency of his home and was thinking about installing an energy management system.

Elouise Lingerie is shop in Buckden, Cambridgeshire selling high-class ladies lingerie, swimwear and nightwear. In 2008 their manager was considering changing their old gas boiler, which was over 10 years old, for a new combi boiler. At the same time she wanted to install a system that turned on the heating only when they needed it.
