On the 14th of May, HeatingSave attended the Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) Village Hall Advisors Event.
The event brought village hall experts, supporters, and advisors together to share their challenges, experiences, and practical insights, to help make the support they offer to local village hall volunteers even better.
ACRE is a national charity that aims to support rural communities and give them a voice. They are an amalgamation of ACRE charities from each rural region of England. Their work covers all kinds of issues that rural communities face, and as village halls are often a local community hub, any support we can give them will benefit many communities. This year, we recognised that volatile energy prices continue to make keeping village halls warm a challenge and that ACRE is working to help village halls with this issue too.
HeatingSave has already helped village halls across the UK to keep their energy costs down, while keeping temperature comfortable. Our collaboration with Hallmaster brought our energy saving technology to their hugely successful room booking software, on which so many village halls rely to manage their booking diaries.
Keeping a hall affordable, accessible, and warm isn't easy, and can be complicated further when usage and bookings change from day to day. That's why our partnership with Hallmaster can make a real difference.
Events like these are valuable because they highlight issues that village halls face. Advisors and hall representatives had the opportunity to speak about the problems many venues face, such as heating wasted on empty rooms, reliance on manual controls, and keeping halls and rooms at a comfortable temperature without always blasting the boiler. These are familiar stories to us, as they echo the sentiment of many of our village hall customers; the problems facing village hall volunteers are widespread.
We were pleased to be able to attend, share practical advice and network with other local community supporters. We look forward to attending other ACRE events soon, and continuing the positive conversations with likeminded companies, charities, and individuals.
