The number of energy efficiency measures to be deployed across the UK set for major fall

The number of energy efficiency measures installed across UK homes is set to record a significant drop until 2020, a recent report from the Association for the Conservation of Energy (ACE) has been able to suggest.

Only around 1.6 million measures are likely to be installed yearly by 2020, which marks a 73% drop compared to 2012 levels, the source can reveal.

The paper from ACE analysed the energy efficiency measures installed, the number of households helped and the total investment during the last Parliament and estimates what will be achieved at the end of the current one in the next five years.

ACE also expects that total investment will be reduced by 53% to £3.2 billion by the end of the decade.

In response, DECC said: “This government is serious about making vulnerable people’s homes warmer and keeping energy bills low. That is why we are increasing support for those who need it most – the fuel poor and vulnerable – whilst reducing the impact on people’s energy bills by cutting support for those able to pay.”

HeatingSave – the perfect Building Energy Management System for cutting emissions in new and existing buildings

If you’re quite worried about future developments in terms of energy management and costs, and you plan to implement an energy costs reduction plan for your business, the best place to start is HeatingSave, since our solution will allow you to actually save between 20 and 30+ percent from your monthly energy bills.

HeatingSave grants energy managers an extensive level of control over the building’s heating patterns, meaning that heating will not be on during weekends or holidays unless the building is actually in use. The system also enables automatic occupancy detection allowing the temperature to be reduced to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.

It’s also very important to mention that HeatingSave can take an automatic decision on whether to use electricity or gas for heating during summer, and also enables users to set a night setback temperature, reducing the night heating by a few degrees to still keep 24/7 operations warm whilst saving energy and money.
